My ID is actually a picture from a party I was having with my friends. A friend of mine thought it would be clever to write this on me... and as it turns out, it's true in a way! This was done with Yellow highlighter beneath a blacklight.
-The purple dress seen in
Mikaela 109 & 111 as well as the
Purple Dress series, is actually my sister's old homecoming dress.
-The skirt of the
Mikaela-150s series is actually an old colorguard flag folded in half and pinned.
-The skirt of
Mikaela 229 & 232is another old colorguard flag, this time a swing flag, which is much larger and has lots of excess material.
-The dress featured in
Formal Brown Standing as well as
Outside Formal Brown is my old prom dress.
-The dress of the
Purple and Chain series is yet another old colorguard flag. They're pretty convenient to have.
- The series of
Greek Goddesses was actually mostly for my use in an art project of mine.
-I've always been a big fan of bustles, so to actually include a fake one in the
Red Drape Skirt series, made me quite happy.
-The entire
Spartan series, was by far one of my most successful shoots, and was obviously inspired by the amazing movie release of 300. I also received my first daily deviation on
Spartan Sitting-5-The
Stone-Earth Drape series is one of my favorite shoots. The 'cloak' or 'cape' is actually a bed sheet pinned in place.
-The
Cargo and Crowbar set was actually pretty fun to shoot, as it was one of the first sets in which I was more 'butch' than femine. Although, I forgot how heavy a crowbar was... heh.
-The
Black Velvet Wrap series was my first set done with my new haircut. The first time I've ever had bangs.
-The
Autumn Nymph series was shot in the ensuite attached to the master bedroom of my house. I was trying out some natural lighting, and the results gave some nice shadows, I think.
-The
Dark Headshot series involved a heck of a lot of backbrushing of my hair, and then some bobby pins and clips to give it the half-up/half-down effect.
-The
Gold Leaf Dress series was the first one to be shot with my new studio lights, out in the garage. The mesh dress worn actually belonged to my grandmother, and I love it.
-I always get complaints about the
Winter White series, saying that I shouldn't take photos of white on white. But I only have a white back sheet. Besides, I trust you photo-manipers to be able to cut me out, just fine.
-The
Drunken Gambler series was a lot of fun to shoot. It was inspired by a game of dress-up poker that I played with my family that year. And of course, acting drunk in front of a camera was amusing. Though, I did stain the sheet with wine on the very last shot of the series... I thought it was empty, but it wasn't. I received my second daily deviation with this set on
Drunken Gambler-23.
-The
Party Attire series was inspired by my best friend
Morgan, and she was her own series up in her gallery.
-The
Common Attire & Urban Fighter series was by far one of the most comfortable shoots I've done. mostly because I got to wear clothes that I wear everyday.
-The dress in the
Turquoise Wrap series is actually a pashmina layered over a crochet wrap. To this day, I still have no idea how to wear a pashmina normally.
-I would say that apart from the Spartan series, I am most known for the
Gold Satin Dress series. The dress is a satin sheet, and a darn troublesome one at that. While I love using this outfit, it usually inhibits me more than anything.
-The outfit of
Stealth Warrior was the uniform for my colorguard in the 2006-2007 season. While it's certainly unique, this will be the last time I shoot in it. I am retiring it, officially.
More to come as my stock gallery grows...
